The outcome of the General Election was, to put it mildly, disappointing.  Speaking personally, I saw too many good friends - both those who had been MPs in the last parliament, who had served their constituencies with dedication and commitment, and candidates standing after long campaigns - lose out.  There now needs to be a period of reflection, considering what we need to do to to rebuild.

I want to play my part in that rebuild: having spent much of the last few weeks on doorsteps, I know that there was no great rush of enthusiasm to Sir Kier Starmer's Labour Party.  Yet we failed to convince the electorate, in sufficient numbers, of the virtues of what we had to offer.

We need to think what we stand for, and how we communicate that better.
