Stewart was born in Essex but I’ve lived in Yorkshire for 20 years.
Stewart was elected as Vice President of the National Convention in 2024 and 2026, as President in 2025, chairing the Party Conference in Manchester that year. Before that he was Regional Chairman for the Conservative Party in Yorkshire (from 2020 to 2023), leading the Party's response to the parliamentary boundaries review and supporting three Westminster by-elections (as well as countless local government by-elections). He was the Party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Leeds North West in 2019 where he achieved second for the first time in nearly 20 years, and took the vote share up by 7 points.
He worked in the Higher Education sector for twenty years, and has been a school governor and now a non-executive Chair of a Multi Academy Trust. A major passion is education, and its ability to transform lives, having seen first-hand the positive effect that education can have on the lives of young people. Another focus is in foreign policy and in ensuring that Britain plays its part on the world stage, as a force for good and in ensuring we use our soft power properly. He was selected as a ‘Future Leader’ by the Coalition for Global Prosperity in 2023.
He set up his own business in 2019 and now uses his expertise in governance and compliance to support organisations across multiple sectors.
In his spare time, he is an avid sports fan supporting Yorkshire and England (cricket) and West Ham (football) in particular.
